Artist's Description

The Forth Bridge, a cantilever type structure, carries the old North British across the Firth of Forth in the east of Scotland. Situated 14 kilometres (9 mi) west of central Edinburgh it opened on 4 March 1890, and has a total length of over 2,500 metres metres (8,296 ft).
